Effective tips I could give is spend time on it like the rest of time that's left until deadline. More importantly have fun.

Then,it would be easier explaining to you since I posted some tutorials there.
Hmm..
I usually just follow my intuation on colours,and use some nice textures/pattern/stocks in this one.
I also have literally thousands of art that I've collected,books and in pc,and I will try to learn and understand other artists method/technique.
Observing is more important than doing.
Plus,there's some really neat tutorials here in dA that is really useful.
Sorry that I couldnt write more.Just trying to keep it short.In my observation,ou are an artist with potential,so I think you can learn these in a breeze.
